NBA 2024-25 Season Predictions

 



This NBA season has been unpredictable so far. From the Cavs' unlikely and continued success, to Joel Embiid's altercation with a reporter, it is hard to imagine what is in store for NBA fans next. We are going to do exactly that, starting with the Coach of the Year. Cleveland's Kenny Atkinson seems to be the favorite at the moment due to their 9-0 start, however I am predicting that the OKC Thunder's Mark Daigneault will come out with the award, they are also undefeated and I think their team is better equipped to sustain their success over the span of an entire season. Next is Clutch Player of the Year, and I believe that award currently belongs to Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He averages 6 points per game in the clutch on 70% shooting from the field and they have won all 3 of those games. For Most Improved Player, I think Charlotte's LaMelo Ball has earned that honor thus far. With averages of 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists, it seems he has reached a whole other level, my only hopes are that he stays healthy and turns the ball over less. For Defensive Player of the Year, San Antonio's Victor "The Alien" Wembanyama is surely the favorite at this point even though the Spurs haven't been stellar so far. In last night's game, Wemby recorded 9 blocks and is currently leading the league at 3.8 per game. For Rookie of the Year, Zach Edey of the Memphis Grizzlies currently has the best case. With nearly 11 points and 6.5 rebounds in 19 minutes per game, he has been solid for a team hoping to reclaim their spot in the top of the Western Conference and he has complimented their star player Ja Morant well. Finally, for MVP, I predict that Jayson Tatum from the Boston Celtics will win. He seems to have a fire lit under him after missing out on the Finals MVP last year to his teammate Jaylen Brown, and being benched by Steve Kerr in the Olympics, and he has had many great moments so far this year. Boston is 7-1, with their one loss coming down to the wire vs. the Pacers in overtime. He is currently averaging 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, and those seem like the most impressive numbers to me out of the most prominent contenders that have emerged thus far.

Ore-Ida       After 5 years of quietly sitting among the top of the frozen potato game without any ads, Ore-Ida  has started a new ad campaign hammering home the idea that they are the most consistent and predictable around. It comes as part of a larger effort by parent Kraft-Heinz to revamp their legacy products. The  article  stood out to me because of the fact that they haven't felt the need to put out any ads for the last 5 years. The article highlights that the new campaign includes a more colorful packaging, a fairy-tale style ad with singing animals and trees, with the ad conveying that Ore-Ida's potatoes are more reliable and delicious than anything else around. Other companies under Kraft-Heinz, namely Jell-O and Kraft Singles, have undergone renovations to modernize their brands, and this seems to be a continuation of that effort. My First Blog Post

 Hey all, my name is Garrett, and I am interested in music and in refurbishing antique things. I go down to my grandma's house often and work on sanding and staining old furniture, and I am currently refinishing a Pepsi machine from the late 60's. As far as my interest for music goes, I have been learning the keyboard over the last few months and I have various records hanging on my walls. Those are the things that I am most passionate about but I also am passionate about basketball, I play most days and keep up with the NBA during the season. I am a business major and I enrolled in this course because I want to one day own a business or multiple businesses. I am most interested in learning about strategies for marketing yourself or your business because I believe it pertains most to my career goals.

Social Listening

     For my social listening post, I have decided to analyze what people are saying about Dutch Bros. because they came out with a new drink at the beginning of the month called the "Pumpkin Pie Soft Top". They released a post on their Instagram on October 1st announcing the new drink was here, and the feedback in the comments seems to be mostly positive, with most comments either saying it sounds really good or it was really good. Positive or negative, it seems Dutch Bros. responded to many of the comments either thanking them for their support, or trying to assist any way they can with those who were dissatisfied. This doesn't come as a surprise to me because it is very much integral to Dutch Bros. brand to be friendly and accommodating, and I would say that is their value proposition.
